Mariana Trench: Take a virtual dive 11,000m down
The reverse apex of the Mariana Trench, Challenger Deep, is about 11,000 meters below the surface of the ocean. It’s one of the most mysterious, extreme locations on our planet. The pressure is so crushingly powerful that it would feel as if a one ton weight was resting on your fingernail. Of course, you’d be dead, so you wouldn’t feel it.
